Youth Faith Formation Program

Welcome to the Office of Faith Formation!

We are humbled by the opportunity to assist parents and guardians in the spiritual formation of the children God has entrusted to them and we look forward to developing and enriching that partnership.

Designated volunteer catechists, who are prepared to teach and to witness to the Gospel in their lives, offer formal religion classes to students in grades K-8 and in the Confirmation program. We acknowledge, with greatest respect, the essential truth that parents and guardians have the ongoing responsibilities to be the first educators and the greatest models of faith for their children. While catechists will eagerly assist, the family is called to form what is known as ‘the domestic Church,’ the safe and loving place where the students learn to pray, worship and live the religion lessons that they are taught in classes.

FAITH FORMATION MISSION STATEMENT

The Basilica of St. Stanislaus of the Diocese of Springfield

works in cooperation with parents/guardians

to form our children and ourselves through systematic and loving catechesis

 in the teachings of the Catholic Church that we may live in the light of Christ

 through the conversion of heart, the frequent reception of the Sacraments,

the practice of virtue, prayer, and a joyful witness to our neighbor.
